Everyone has sugar in their body. Blood sugar acts as fuel to every work. However, when it goes beyond a certain levels, it become harmful for body. Your HbA1c is 6.2 %, you are having dark line around neck (Acanthosis nigricens ) and you gained weight.  So you are having pre-diabetes and also have significant insulin resistance. Right now you should follow life style modification. You should loose at least 5% body weight. It will reduce insulin resistance and also normalise your HbA1c.
