Sudden start pain
My wife has suddenly started experiencing pain whenever she eats anything. There is swelling near both the right and left sides (around the cheek/jaw area), and it starts hurting.

This seems like a case of parotid gland inflammation. Can be due to multiple causes . Start hot fomentation and consult a nearby ent clinic

your symptoms description is pointing towards parotitis in easy language गलसूया . It is self limiting viral infection but u need to start her on tab clindamycin antibiotic , one anti inflammatory and a multivitamin just to avoid super added infection. you can do hot compress over the swelling and can apply magsulf ointment twice a day dont use belladona patches. Maintain hydration as much as possible and should avoid cold and sour food.

If kids and elders at home , do ask her to wear mask as it gets transmitted easily

The symptoms u r saying mainly align with parotitis, that is swelling of parotid gland, which is present near the near, and it swells up every time she eats. If possible upload photo
