My father is having pain which starts from below belly button and extends till left..Suddenly pain increases and gradually decreases.he is having some medicines now for this but not much effective.Have digestion issue as well What can be the cause of this pain

This may be due to colitis ( infection of large bowel) . Rarely can be due to cystitis ( infection of urinary bladder)
