Some pain in the cast
My father broke his ankle a month or so ago and we were wondering if it is safe for him to take off the cast he has and wash his foot and if it is okay for him to take it off to give his foot time to breathe.

That depends on the fracture pattern. Anyways 4 weeks is ok time to remove and replastered or leave like that,  especially if he has itching, pain or wet sensation in foot. Share xrays .
