Small painful mass on the toe
Respective Sir/Madam, One of my sister has a small painful mass on her right leg toe and has visited the doctor recently. The doctor has said that it is nothing to worry about and prescribed medicines like antibiotics, multivitamin and pain killers for few days and not to disturb the mass on the toe. She doesn't have any other issues and was healthy. Kindly tell that what to do with the issue concerned and help her in subsiding the issue. Thanking You,

It sounds like your sister’s doctor has already provided a good plan for managing the small painful mass on her toe. Here are some additional steps she can take to help with the issue: Follow the Doctor’s Instructions: Ensure she takes the prescribed antibiotics, multivitamins, and painkillers as directed. This will help manage any infection, support her overall health, and reduce pain. Avoid Disturbing the Mass: It’s important not to touch or try to remove the mass, as this could cause further irritation or infection. Keep the Area Clean: Gently clean the area around the mass with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or scrubbing the area. Rest and Elevate: If the toe is swollen or painful, resting and elevating the foot can help reduce swelling and discomfort. Monitor for Changes: Keep an eye on the mass. If it grows, becomes more painful, or shows signs of infection (such as redness, warmth, or pus), she should contact her doctor immediately. Comfort Measures: Wearing comfortable, well-fitting shoes can help avoid additional pressure on the toe. She might also find relief using a cold compress to reduce pain and swelling. If the mass does not improve with the prescribed treatment or if she experiences any new symptoms, it’s important to follow up with her doctor for further evaluation. Is there anything else you would like to know or any other concerns you have?

Hello. This looks like an ingrown nail which is not yet infected. But is very prone for infections. The nail should be removed if there is any ingrown part as it can be really painful. For further consultation please connect at carna health center Nagarabhavi Bangalore
