Hello,
The lesion looks like intertrigo with irritant dermatitis — common in babies due to moisture, heat, milk drooling, and friction in neck folds.
Change baby’s clothes if soaked with milk/sweat
Ensure neck is dried gently after every bath or milk spill
Use a soft muslin cloth to gently clean after feeds
Next Steps
Keep the neck folds clean and dry: Gently clean with lukewarm water and soft cloth. Pat dry thoroughly, especially after feeds and baths.
Apply barrier ointments: Use zinc oxide-based cream (like Desitin or Sudocrem) 2–3 times/day. Can also use petroleum jelly as a moisture barrier.
If peeling or inflamed:Apply low-potency steroid cream (e.g., 1% hydrocortisone) only for 2–3 days, under pediatrician supervision.
Avoid talcum powders — they can clump and worsen irritation.
Health Tips
Red flags:
Redness spreads beyond neck
Cracks or pus-like discharge (possible secondary infection)
Fever or foul odor
Baby becomes irritable or refuses feeds

Looks like skin peeling after some contact dermatitis. Please check if the child was wearing something in the neck which irritated the skin.
Let her wear loose fitting clothes where the neck is kept free and no rubbing occurs
Moisturize the area well after washing with a syndet cleaner. You can use Aveeno wash for sensitive skin with no fragrance or simple Dove body wash or any syndet washing bar. For moisturizer a simple Vaseline will be good or again Aveeno moisturizing lotion for sensitive skin
Watch for another week. See how it is healing. If any rash comes up we need to re evaluate. Remember, a good moisturizing is the key!
