Thank you for reaching out and for providing detailed information about your baby’s symptoms. It’s understandable to be concerned when you see skin changes recurring in your little one. Recurring dry, rough skin and peeling in the neck region is relatively common in infants, especially in skin folds where moisture, warmth, and friction can lead to irritation or fungal infections. The creams prescribed (Candid and DK gel) are appropriate for fungal infections and usually provide relief, but sometimes the issue can return if the area remains moist or irritated, or if there’s incomplete treatment of the underlying cause.
Next Steps
Continue to keep the neck area dry and clean. After each bath, gently pat the area dry, ensuring no moisture stays in the skin folds. If you notice redness, oozing, increased peeling, or your baby seems uncomfortable or in pain, or if there is a foul smell, please revisit the pediatrician. Sometimes, a bacterial infection can develop if the skin is persistently broken. Sometimes repeated infections can indicate an underlying skin sensitivity or eczema. If the recurrence is frequent, it may help to discuss this possibility with your doctor. Consider changing your baby’s clothes more frequently, especially if they drool or spit up often, as moisture can worsen irritation.

Hello, I understand your concern Steroid (Beclomethasone) use in infants, especially for over a week, can thin skin and delay healing if not truly needed. Persistent roughness and peeling suggest possible irritant dermatitis or rebound after stopping steroid, or simply post-inflammatory dryness.
Next Steps
STOP Candid-B: Prolonged steroid use on thin infant skin (esp. neck folds) is not advisable unless clearly indicated and prescribed for specific inflammatory lesions. Switch to Gentle Skincare: Clean neck folds 2–3 times daily with plain lukewarm water and dry gently. Apply gentle emollients like: Cetraben, EpiSoft, Cetaphil DAM, or Aveeno baby cream Avoid fragrant products or adult creams Barrier Care: If moist or prone to friction: apply a barrier ointment like Zinc-based cream (Desitin, B4 Nappi, or Himalaya diaper rash cream). Air-dry neck area when possible. Monitor Healing: Expect gradual improvement over 1–2 weeks. Hypopigmentation may take a few weeks to months to normalize. When to Reassess: If new redness, discharge, or spreading lesions develop → consider fungal or secondary infection → re-evaluate by pediatrician.
Health Tips
Avoid: Repeated steroid or antifungal use without clear diagnosis Tight clothing around the neck Using powders in folds

Good morning parent! Keep the area dry and moisturised. The skin folds are areas of sweat and friction, giving rise to iritation, atopy and secondary fungal infection. Use a gentle syndet cleanser like Dove body wash. Can apply simple Vaseline after bath or a gentle, perfume free moisturizer like Aveeno baby moisturizer lotion ( it has skin protection agent too) Steroid containing cream like candid b should be avoided. A simple Candid cream can be used twice daily for 2 -3 weeks ( DK gel cream has plain miconazole as antifungal and can also be used similarly)

It appears to be just intertrigo; however, additional medical history would be helpful. If there's no improvement, consider consulting a dermatologist.
