I got my lower wisdom tooth removed six days ago. So much bone had to be removed to get the tooth out. I initially thought the swelling didn't go down and that's why it's still paining when it shouldn't. But when I checked it, there is a very painful hard mass inside my cheeks surrounding my extraction site. It's very painful and the pain has radiated to my ear and temple on the same side. I don't have fever or pus draining issue. What could it be? Is it an infection or an abscess? It's not responding to painkillers as well. And today, I also saw small white stuff inside my cheeks and on the extraction site. My socket doesn't look empty. It's filled with gum. So, I don't understand what is the issue.

Hello
Severe pain even after 6days means you need to again visit the dentist.
They ll have to evaluate the hard mass which you've mentioned.also swelling could be infection or abscess or just an injury at the injection site, but it needs to be assessed.
Next Steps
Fresh bleeding must be induced to initiate healing afresh. If extraction site is infected, antibiotics will help reduce the swelling.
Health Tips
Do not self medicate.visit the dentist.

Hello
When a wisdom tooth is extracted body gives a response in the form of swelling and inflammation which persists for few days. Don't worry it will go down on its own. Kindly continue with the medicines given to you by the dentist
