Knee pain which increases with cooler weather may be suggestive of arthritis. The best way to assess is to get xrays of the knee while standing. That will give us clear picture of arthritis or not. Regarding old foot injury, please try hot packs, and physiotherapy with ultrasonic therapy.

Focus on your sitting height and the progressive difficulty in getting up from lower heights. This difficulty will exert pressure on foot because you are protecting the knee or on foor if you protect the foot. Sit at such a height from where getting in and out is comfortable.

Hi, Usually ligament tears will be there in Ankle rather than foot. - These ligament tears if becomes chronic(old) will affect the associated joint motion. - As you are referring its as a foot pain clearly, better wear a MCR chappals while walking (Even inside the house and other pair of it while going out) - Another way is immersion in luke warm water for 15mins thrice daily atleast for 10days. - Tablet Etodolac 400mg twice a day for 2weeks,if intensity of pain in more.
Next Steps
Just check if there is any instability (fear of slipping / falling down) of your ankle. If so you may need a MRI scan of your ankle - try to get your ligament repair. Get me back if you have any queries to share and information regarding your problem. Take care
