My elder sister delivered her 2nd baby in April this year. Her first child was born in 2005. She is now getting very anxious and questionining her decision. She is crying whenever I talk to her and seem very hopless about the future. I try to listen to her and offer support by saying things that may comfort her however situation is not improving.
I read online that this maybe a case of postpartum depression?
Any expert advise on what approach should we take as family? Also, what should be my role as Sibling? How can i offer better support? What should be the approach in my communication? I do not want to invalidate her feeling and at the same time do not want to tell her that all her fears are absolutely correct. I am in a fix. Please help.

Yes, does sound like post partum depression. Please consult a Psychiatrist because Ppst partum depression can have serious consequences both for the mother and the baby. Yes be supportive but she will need medicines for a few months.
Suicide is a risk, also harm to the baby..so someone should be with her 24×7.
