Severe abdomin pain with Femilon tablet

Hello Doctor, My wife use to get severe pain 1 week or 10 days before her regular cycle. This happening only after she gave birth to our first baby. He is 1 year 10 Months old. This problem she is facing from the first period she got after giving birth. When we consulted, doctor suggested to take Femilon from the 3rd day of her period. is it safe
