Sebaceous cyst. Through some medication?

I have a problem of sebaceous cyst on my face. So I consulted a dermatologist she suggested me for a surgery in order to completely remove it. So my concern is it really necessary that I should go for a this surgical treatment or can it be cured through some medication? The cyst is not that big, I guess its hardly half or a inch. Its not which looks odd and can be easily recognizable . Yes when I put my finger on it then I can surely feel some unevenness. She has even asked for certain tests such as LIPID & Liver tests as my skin is very oily and I have black and white heads on the other part of my face. And please let me know the cure also so that in future it does not happen again. Please let me know how much will it cost if I go for surgical treatment
