A psychiatrist decides to stop an antipsychotic when he believes that the risk of recurrence of the disease is low. For coming to this conclusion he looks into multiple factors like severity of your illness, history of repeated relapses, family history of the illness, social support available, ability to monitor one's own symptoms, cost of relapse etc. Antipsychotics are never stopped abruptly, rather they must be taperd off. Talk to your psychiatrist about this
