First: Based on what you described
Bat only hit you, no clear bite
No visible wound
You already completed full ARV course in Nov–Dec 2025
Current incident is 22/1/2026 (within 3 months of full vaccination)
👉 This means you are considered previously vaccinated.
✅ Correct Next Step (as per guidelines):
Since you already completed full rabies vaccination recently:
You only need:
2 booster doses
Day 0 (as soon as possible)
Day 3
❌ No need for full course again
❌ No need for Rabies Immunoglobulin
❌ No need to panic
First thing; there are no micrbats. So if you didn't see a bat then it was not a bite by a bat.
Secondly; you received the Anti-rabies vaccine only about 3 months ago. So there is no need to repeat the vaccination.
Concentrate on your exams. You are safe.
Relax kid you are under good care. Before the bite you completed the full course of ARV.
Your words are confusing but I take it as you don’t have any visible bite,or bleeding wound. If there is any skin break or salivary contact with wound you will need 2 booster doses on day 0 and day 3 and no immunoglobulin needed as you already completed a full ARV course. If not present, risk is extremely low.
Jaw tingling alone is not a sign of rabies. If you have rabies, after weeks to months of bite, you may develop fever, fear of water, anxiety etc
About vaccine fear-rabies vaccine used in India are WHO approved cell culture vaccines. So there’s no chance of fake vaccine.
Health Tips
Rabies does not start with only jaw tingling , so based on information you provided you are very likely safeand the infection risk is very low. Focus on your exams and take care. contact me any time on Practo for further consultation.
First, take a breath.
From what you described:
• A bat “hit” your chin
• You did not see a visible wound
• No bleeding noticed
• Burning sensation immediately after
• Tingling since then
• You already completed a full ARV course in Nov–Dec 2025
Important facts:
1. Rabies spreads only if infected saliva enters a real break in the skin or mucous membrane.
2. A “soft hit” without visible wound or bleeding is very unlikely to transmit rabies.
3. Immediate burning sensation after impact is usually due to:
• Minor skin irritation
• Nerve sensitivity from sudden contact
• Anxiety response
4. Tingling in jaw after such an event is far more commonly anxiety-related nerve hyper-awareness, not rabies.
Rabies does NOT cause local tingling immediately after exposure that continues for weeks without other symptoms.
Rabies incubation is typically weeks to months and does not present as isolated jaw tingling alone.
Since you completed a full vaccination course in late 2025, you already have immune memory. Even if a true exposure occurred, vaccinated individuals are protected and only require boosters — not full course again.
Fear of “fake vaccine” is understandable, but in India, government and licensed centers use approved vaccines. True counterfeit ARV in formal centers is extremely rare.
Based on your description, this does NOT sound like a rabies exposure.
Next Steps
Ask yourself:
• Was there bleeding?
• Was there a visible bite mark?
• Did saliva clearly enter an open wound?
If the answer is no → this is NOT a Category III exposure.
Since you are already vaccinated, even if it was a minor scratch, you would only need booster doses (Day 0 and 3), not full schedule.
At this point:
✔ Do not panic
✔ Do not restart vaccination randomly
✔ Focus on exam preparation
✔ If anxiety continues, consult a local physician once for physical examination for reassurance
Seek urgent care only if:
• Fever develops
• Difficulty swallowing
• Severe neurological symptoms
Jaw tingling alone is not rabies.
Health Tips
✔ Stop repeatedly checking the area
✔ Avoid Googling rabies symptoms
✔ Practice slow breathing to reduce anxiety
✔ Sleep properly before exams
✔ Trust your completed vaccination
Your symptoms right now sound far more like anxiety-driven hyperfocus than infection.
If you want, tell me:
• Was there actual bleeding?
• Did a doctor examine the area?
• Did you take any booster after 22/1/2026?
I can give you a very clear final risk assessment. If this fear is interfering with your concentration for SSLC exams, booking an online consultation would help settle this definitively and allow you to focus calmly on your studies.
You already completed your scheduled vaccination, then no need of vaccinate again before 3 month.if time is more than 3 month then go for booster doses.
If you completed the full rabies vaccination schedule (5 doses) as mentioned, the protection is usually very good and rabies risk becomes extremely low.
Also, if there was no visible bite or bleeding wound, the chance of infection is even lower. The burning or tingling you felt is more likely due to minor local irritation or anxiety after the incident.
Try to stay calm and focus on your studies. Since you already received proper vaccination, you are very likely safe.
If anxiety or symptoms continue, it would be better to discuss it with a doctor for reassurance.

Dear Patient,
If there was no visible bite or bleeding, risk is extremely low.
You already completed the anti-rabies vaccine course, so you are protected.
Burning and tingling are most likely from minor nerve irritation or anxiety — not rabies.
You are safe. Focus on your exams.
