Scalp psoriasis
Dear doctor, I have a scalp psoriasis for the past 2-3 years which I recently found out because of hair fall problems. I went bald and found extreme red patches on the whole of the scalp. I visited a dermatologist who suggested me to use nizral solution for a month. However I can see very few difference and it almost itches every night before I go to sleep. Hair fall also has become a huge problem since I'm only 23. Have started using aloe vera and onion juice to see if there's a difference. Please suggest me what to do.

Psoriasis is an immune system mediated skin disease which can be brought into remission by certain medications and life style changes. Now it is well established and believed to be a multi system disorder involving joints, hearts and kidneys as well. A proper assessment to determine the severity of psoriasis and an assessment of other organ involvements is needed. Most of the patients do well if they stick to the recommendations. Kindly see a dermatologist for a treatment plan.
