Rise In Serum Creatinine Level
I'm diabetic since 6 years with HbA1c remains between 6% - 7%,hypertensive since 2 years with bp remaining around 130/80 or 140/80.Have grade 2 fatty liver disease.No problems or symptoms of kidney disease as such Serum creatinine used to remain 1.0 mg/dl.Tested after 13 months from the same lab & it came 1.2 mg/dl (ref range : 0.72 - 1.25).There has been a spike of 0.2 mg/dl.Reports of blood urea,potassium,urine culture,urine r/e,urine acr & usg (kub + pvru) are normal.Other test reports & parameters are also normal Re-tested from 2 different labs on the next day.On one it came 1.10 mg/dl (ref range : 0.6 - 1.30) & on another it came 1.18 mg/dl (ref range : upto 1.4) Having excessive weight loss of 10 Kgs,having excessive anxiety & stress,taking librium 25 (chlordiazepoxide) (1 tab twice a day) since 7 months & smoking excessively since 7 months Can any of these factors cause a spike in creatinine level? Is the spike in creatinine level normal considering other reports & my age?

At this time your creatinine levels from different labs remain in normal range.As you are a diabetic,get your microalbumin and albumin creatinine ratio to check if there is any early stage renal disorders.

Creatinine levels at a higher side of normal.. you keep yourself well hydrated as medicines you are taking can cause rise in creatinine level. Also try getting them checked after 3 days of hydration therapy. ~ 4 liters water/day.. if still on higher side then visit a urologist .
