Renal angiogram
My father got renal angiogram 2 days ago and report is normal but doctor told contrast nephropathy can arise as a complication ..how to check for it and is there any medication ..he is 58 and has diabetes as well ...please guide me doctor

It is a risk. Whenever a procedure is done, risk is inherent. It can't be eliminated. If the benefit of the angiography is more than the risk, then u should take the risk and go ahead. Risk doesn't mean 100% of the patients will have raised creatinine. Pls consult ur nephrologist on ways to prevent the contrast nephropathy
