Regarding Weight Loss.
My uncle takes high BP medication for last 15+ years. He had Acute chest, stomach & urine infection (the first ailment of his life) in mid-Aug and was cured from associated fever, etc. after 8 days of hospitalization. Post discharge, doctor prescribed Met XL 25 and Cilacar 10 for BP and Glyciphage SR 500 for Blood Sugar control. As he never showed any symptoms of high blood sugar before, we had his blood sugar monitored routinely (stated medication ongoing) by Hba1c test & each time results are borderline diabetic or in normal range. He recently suffered from fever for 10-11 days this November which was cured by Doxycycline SL 100 twice daily for 7 days. During this, many tests were conducted, and everything was normal, except ESR 45, CRP 42 and PCT 0.17 (during early days of fever). He is following strict fat, sugar and carb free diet since Aug. His weight was around 70 KGs on 23rd Oct & 65 KGs on 21st Nov. He is clinically fine and feels very well now. Is this weight loss normal?

Weight loss is not normal. An infection especially of the urinary tract or chest may lead to weight loss but that will be regained after the fever is controlled.  His blood sugar levels should be monitored.

Patient's detailed medical history is required. It is recommended to consult a doctor professional through the Practo app or visit a local medical facility for a thorough evaluation. Please keep in mind that detailed medical history is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.
