I consulted one dermat regarding acne and he asked me to take isotretinoin and consult after every 21days. So after two complete dosage(42days), i tried to book an appointment with the same doctor again but he was not available(I waited around a week). During that time i stopped taking isotretinoin because i didnt want to take any medicine without doctor consultation.
Now i consulted another derm, she said you should stop taking isotretinoin now. Note that from the moment i have stopped taking isotretinoin, acne has only flared up.
What should i do?

Treatment depends on the grade..Acne or pimples... Due to hormonal changes..Oily skin causes it...Common in adolescent age...May occur in adults also.. Food like Oily foods, ice cream, chocolate and sweets increase it.. Treatment depends on the grade of pimples or acne..So, please send photos by direct online consultation as it's a must to see which grade of pimples or acne for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• You were on isotretinoin for a short duration (≈6 weeks), which is insufficient to complete the required cumulative course, hence flare after stopping is expected
• Acne worsening after discontinuation suggests under-treated moderate–severe acne, not treatment failure
• Conflicting advice likely due to lack of continuity and monitoring, which is essential with isotretinoin
Next Steps
• Decision to restart or modify treatment depends on current severity, previous dose, and baseline tests
• Aim should be structured, monitored therapy till adequate cumulative dose is achieved, if isotretinoin is chosen
Helpful Tips / Word of Caution
• Do not self-start or stop isotretinoin—it requires regular monitoring (lipids, liver function, etc.)
• Mild flare during gaps or early phase is common—avoid frequent switching of doctors
• Maintain basic skincare and avoid picking to reduce risk of scarring and pigmentation
