Hiee..!!
So..I want to ask that is it bad to depend on multivitamin and multimineral supplements for long period of time like some doesn't get much time to even eat all proper meals as life is becoming so hectic these days...I used to skip meals for work and studies so I decided to take supplements to fulfill that need but I am worried that is it really good to depend on supplements??

Hi ,
I understand your concern and life is busy but please remember supplements should not be used as an alternative for daily meals..They are just only a support can’t give all the required nutrients essential for the body to Survive and be healthy. Also depending on supplements for long term isn’t good.Even on regular busy day try to eat foods that are easily available to you so you no need to depend on fancy foods or supplements.

Hi
Multivitamins have their place when a genuine deficiency exists, but they shouldn’t become a crutch. Relying on pills alone can mask gaps that whole foods, balanced meals, and healthy habits fill more effectively. Prioritising nutrition and lifestyle over supplements is the safer, sustainable path.

Hi
It’s okay to take supplements for a short period if you are deficient. Otherwise 3 months is a good time.
You have to eat regularly, because the supplements may help you for a while, but the impact on your health due to not eating properly, is long term.
Yes, a multivitamin can help -but don’t depends on it as a replacement for meals
Missing meals is common , but your body still needs regular nutrients for energy, hormones and brain function
But don’t depend fully on supplements
They don’t provide calorie, protein of fiber
They don’t support gut health like real food
Overuse can cause excess intake
Best Approach for you
1. Use multivitamin smartly
Take once after food
2. Fix your schedule with quick foods
3. Don’t skip more than 1 meal per day
Add at least 2 small nutrients snacks
My honest opinion
Multivitamin are helpful short term
But long term dependancy - poor health, low stamina, muscle loss
Real food = energy + immunity + strength
No its not
If you take certified and trial one
Instead they will help in fast and stable recovery
Plan any supplement under dietitain and general physician suggestion only
Don't add them without blood test and understanding
It’s completely understandable to consider multivitamin and multimineral supplements when life gets busy and meals are irregular. However, depending on supplements for a long time instead of proper food is not a good idea.
Supplements are meant to “fill gaps,” not replace meals. Real food provides not just vitamins and minerals, but also protein, fiber, healthy fats, and other nutrients that tablets simply cannot fully replicate.
Taking multivitamins regularly is generally safe if:
You stick to the recommended dose
You don’t have any underlying medical condition
You’re using them as a backup, not a substitute
But relying on them long-term can have downsides:
You may still miss important nutrients like protein and fiber
Some vitamins (like A, D, E, K) can build up in the body if overused
It doesn’t fix the root issue—irregular eating habits
Next Steps
What you should do instead:
Try simple, quick meals (like fruits, nuts, curd, sandwiches, khichdi) even on busy days
Keep healthy snacks handy to avoid skipping meals
Use supplements only when your diet is not meeting needs temporarily
Supplements don’t make up for real food
though they are not harmful unless taken in excess , for prolonged periods without deficiency
It is best to consult your dietitian before make such choices
