Hi, is it safe to use betadaine ointment for children for wound care...bcoz i came to know it is very harsh for tissues...also guaze dressing sticking to the wound n forcefully pulled n removed from my child's knee wound...her scab came on it...will it damage her wound tissues...after then i applied supirocin antibiotic ointment over it in fear of infection so in order to prevent tat...NW i m in fear tat it might cause drug resistance to my child in future since I used unnecessarily without any sign of infection...also since started i need to complete the course too...hw many days minimum course antibiotic needed...two or three days or just one day enough...

You could have the dressing wet with sterile water and pulled it ,so that it wouldn't be painful ,I recommend you to do daily dressing with softamycin or mupirocin and give an antibiotic course for 3 days
