Hello there, if you are having enough breastmilk , you should wait for atleast 6 momths to start weaning. Probably if the case is you don't have enough breastmilk, you can start weaning with dal water, rice water slowly with dal khichdi , can add ghee if required. BIT NO SALT AND SUGAR TO BABIES LESS THAN 1 YEAR. NO COW'S MILK TO BABYS LESS THAN 1 YEAR. NO ALLERGIC FOODS LIKE NUTS, NONVEG , SEA FOOD TO BABY LESS THAN 1 YEAR.

For a 4-month-old baby, even during an Annaprashan ceremony, it’s not recommended to give salted or spicy food. It is recommended to start solids around 6 months. No added salt should be given before 1 year as baby’s kidneys are still immature and cannot handle extra sodium. Baby’s digestive system is still developing and can get irritated easily with spicy food.
Next Steps
For Annaprashan: Ideally use Plain, soft, and simple rice paste or rice cereal. * Cooked with water or breast milk/formula * No salt, sugar, or spices added
