Redness in Skin

Asked for Male, 31 Years

I am experiencing redness in different parts of skin mostly all over the body which comes and goes throughout the day. I get itching sensation in those areas of skin. I have been treated since a month now at one of dermatologist but condition doesn't seem to be improving. Blood, Urine and Stool test reports are normal as checked by my doctor. According to doctor, it some sort of skin allergy however even that doctor is not sure what might be causing it. Need a second opinion on this as even after multiple change of medicines my condition is not improving.

You are probably suffering from what Dermatologist call urticaria. Common causes are food allergy, infection or drugs taken for some condition. It presents with itching resulting in formation of red rashes which we call hives or wheals. Although in most cases cause remains unknown in spite of a thorough search. It can be symptomatically treated with antihistamines so that you do not get any new hives. The treatment should be prolonged until it resolves which usually takes 1 to 6 months.
