Possible Causes:
1. Heat Rash (Prickly Heat / Miliaria)
Caused by blocked sweat glands
Common in hot and humid weather
Appears as small red bumps or pimples
Usually on face, neck, back, stomach, and thighs
2. Diaper Rash
In the diaper area (genitals and inner thighs)
Caused by moisture, friction, or infection
3. Eczema / Atopic Dermatitis
Red, dry, sometimes itchy patches
Can appear on cheeks, arms, or stomach
4. Allergic or Irritant Reaction
Reaction to soap, detergent, lotion, or fabric
Next Steps
If it's heat rash:
✅ Keep baby cool: Light, loose cotton clothing
✅ Cool baths: Plain water, no soap or very mild baby soap
✅ Dry the skin gently after bathing
✅ Use Calamine Lotion or Aloe Vera Gel (safe baby version) to soothe
🚫 Avoid applying oils or heavy creams, they may block pores
❌ Prickly Heat Powder?
⚠️ Use with caution. Many pediatricians don’t recommend talcum-based powders due to risk of inhalation and irritation.
✅ If you use one, choose baby-safe, talc-free powders like Himalaya Baby Prickly Heat Powder or Sebamed Baby Powder — but use sparingly, and never near the face.
🧴 For diaper/genital rashes:
✅ Continue using rash cream (like zinc oxide-based creams: Desitin, Sudocrem, Himalaya diaper rash cream)
✅ Keep diaper area dry, give diaper-free time
🚫 Avoid scented wipes or tight diapers
