Red Rash since last few days
I am having a red Rash in the penis area since the last few days. It is painless but it is red in color. What is it likely? Is it safe to apply coconut oil in the area? How to get rid of it fast? Does it look like something serious? I don't have any chronic conditions I have attached pictures so please check and let me know what it is and how I can get rid of it as soon as possible

Namastey A red, painless rash over the penile area that has appeared recently is most often due to local irritation, moisture, or mild inflammation. Common benign causes include Balanitis, frictional dermatitis from tight clothing or activity, or a mild superficial fungal irritation. Since it is painless and of short duration, it is less likely to be serious in the absence of other symptoms like discharge, ulcers, or severe itching. Regarding coconut oil, it can sometimes act as a mild soothing agent and moisturizer, but in warm, moist areas like the genital region, it may also trap moisture and potentially worsen certain rashes, especially if fungal elements are involved. Therefore, it should be used cautiously and only in minimal quantity, if at all. The priority should be to keep the area clean, dry, and free from irritation.
Next Steps
Maintain gentle hygiene using plain water and avoid harsh soaps, perfumes, or chemical products in the area. Keep the region dry, wear loose cotton undergarments, and avoid friction or prolonged moisture exposure. Refrain from sexual activity until the rash settles, as friction can delay healing. Observe the rash over a few days—if it spreads, becomes itchy, develops discharge, or does not improve, a direct clinical evaluation is recommended. Health Tips
Good genital hygiene is essential—clean gently and dry properly after bathing. Avoid tight clothing and synthetic fabrics that retain heat and moisture. Stay well hydrated and maintain overall skin health through a balanced lifestyle. Avoid self-application of multiple home remedies, as this may aggravate the condition. Early care, cleanliness, and minimal irritation are the key factors for quick recovery in such cases. Thank you
