Red patches on skin. Not spread further?

Three weeks ago I observed some (around 4-5) red patches on thigh. I thought it is some insect bite in bed. They were causing itching sensation and were spreading. Then I applied some anti-fungal cream to it and in few days they start to heal. They are almost dried now leaving some marks on the skin. For last few days I'm observing the similar marks are reappearing. They are distributed and casing a lot of itching sensation. The patches are around 2-3 cm in diameter. I could see some white area in the center probably because I may have itched it during sleep. I applied Dettol to it as a preventive measure. I would like to know the reason for this. Are these because of some insect bite or allergy or something else? What should be done so that these do not spread further?
