Receding Hairline
I was having massive hair fall and dandruff problems, so I decided to shave my head and have remained bald for almost 6 months now. Now when I try to grow back my hair, hair density is very low in top and front of the head. Also dandruff problem persists, even with very less hair. I don't have family history of hair loss. Who should I consult first, a dermatologist or a hair-transplant surgeon? I have no problem with surgery. Also will my dandruff problems be an issue if I undergo transplant. Also for additional information, I regularly workout and take supplements (which included creatine, I stopped using it after I read reports that creatine increases hair fall, if problem already exists). Thanks in advance.

Hi Thanks for your query. Hair in young men is usually attributed to hormones and genetics. Since we are unable to change your genetics, we can take steps to protect the hair you have and fight the effect of hormones and genetics. Options include using vitamins to balance your diet, such as a Hair/Nail/Skin vitamin. Topical medications such as minoxodil to increase blood flow to the hair follicle. Oral medication such as finastride to block the effects of hormones on the hair follicle. You can consult on private chat with clinical photographs for personalised treatment
