Rct in hypertension
My 2nd molar needs RCT but my dentist is telling to go for Physician checkup or in dental college for treatment. According to him LA cause high BP and in my case due to my young age, he doesn't want to take risk. My BP after taking daily 1 Amlokind At is 140/80 I have consulted both Cardiologist and Nephrologist for BP they both are saying wait and watch because it is mild renal artery stenosis and medication is only the solution in my case. What should I do in this case? I am frustrated what to do because sometimes my teeth ache very badly.

Rct may not always require anesthesia. 140/80 may not be considered hypertension. Also rct is a routine dental procedure. Take second opinion

You can go ahead and do the root canal. Mild hypertension is not a problem while administering local anesthesia

The amount of adrenaline given in a dental block is extremely low. If BP is well maintained with medications and diet and lifestyle changes then the dentist can proceed like a normal extraction. Take your medication in the morning and keep an early morning appointment. There should be no problems
Next Steps
Visit a dentist who understands how to manage patients with medical co morbidities.
Health Tips
In rare cases, some dentists recommend using local Anesthesia without adrenaline. There is no scientific evidence that it helps over normal local anesthesia with adrenaline
