If you can observe the dog then you don’t need any injections for next 7 days and if there is any behavioural change then you will need full course along with immunoglobulin
If you cannot monitor then again take full course
Is yours post exposure rabies vaccination if yes then no treatment need of any treatment. If it was pre exposure prophylaxis then you need to get two boosters.
Day 0 (as soon as possible) and Day 3.
If you’ve completed the full course of rabies vaccination just 20 days ago, you’re still protected — your body already has active antibodies. Usually, no additional booster is required for another exposure so soon after a completed vaccination series.
However, since the wound bled and was caused by a dog scratch, it’s best to have a doctor assess the wound, confirm the vaccination details, and decide if a booster is needed based on current guidelines and your risk exposure.
You can book an online consultation now to review your case, verify your vaccination dates, and get immediate medical advice tailored to your situation.
Since you completed your rabies vaccination course just 20 days ago, you already have good protection.
Next Steps
For this new dog scratch with bleeding:
1)Immediately wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes.
2)Apply an antiseptic (like povidone-iodine).
3)No need to repeat the full vaccine course — just take one booster dose (single injection) of the rabies vaccine as soon as possible.
4)Rabies immunoglobulin is not needed since you were recently vaccinated.
Health Tips
Keep the wound clean and watch for any signs of infection (redness, swelling, pus).
