Hello
Thank you for your query
Your situation is bit tricky
See Rabies is a fatal disease so two option is there
1. If the cat is pet And vaccinated fully then No need
2. It it’s a stray cat and you don’t know the status then it’s better to take 2 doses on day 0 and day 3
It’s better option to be on safer side as you don’t know your ARV titre in your body
I hope I have replied your query
Hello. I have reviewed the details of your recent cat exposure.
Because you received a booster dose of the rabies vaccine only last month, your immune system is currently well-primed to protect you.
Current Recommendations:
No Additional Booster: Since your last documented vaccination was within the last 3 months, you do not need another booster dose for this specific incident.
Wound Care: It is excellent that you washed the wound immediately. Ensure it was cleaned thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes, as this significantly reduces the viral load.
Monitor the Cat: If the cat is a pet or can be observed, monitor its health for 10 days. If the cat remains healthy, it further confirms there was no risk of rabies transmission.
When to Seek Further Medical Attention:
If the wound starts showing signs of a common bacterial infection, such as increased swelling, pus, or worsening pain.
If you are unsure of your tetanus vaccination status, you may need a tetanus toxoid injection.

According to the WHO and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines, if you have already received a full course of the Anti-Rabies Vaccine or a booster dose within the last 3 months, you do not require another booster for a new exposure. Since you took a booster dose just last month, your circulating antibody levels are clinically sufficient to protect you from this recent cat bite
Next Steps
Observation of the Animal: If it is a pet cat or a known stray, monitor its behavior for 10 days. If the cat remains healthy and doesn't show signs of rabies (excessive drooling, aggression, paralysis), it further confirms you are at zero risk.
Monitor the Wound: Since it was bleeding for a few seconds, keep the area clean. If you notice any swelling, pus discharge, or increasing redness, consult for local wound management and a possible course of regular antibiotics to prevent a common bacterial infection.
No Extra Doses: Do not take additional Rabies doses out of anxiety. Over-vaccination is not necessary and does not provide "extra" protection beyond what you already have.
