I saw different doctors prescribing different antacid. Some prescribes Pantaprazole , some prescribes Rabeprazole or Esomeprazole or Omeprazole. And I saw all of them working equally well. Can you please explain how do doctors choose antacid for different use-cases ?

These are proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), not antacids. We generally choose among them based on patient-specific factors.
For instance, in elderly patients, pantoprazole is often preferred because it has the least potential for drug interactions, and elderly individuals are typically on multiple medications for various comorbidities.
On the other hand, esomeprazole is generally favored in patients with moderate to severe gastritis due to its slightly longer duration of action and more consistent acid suppression compared to pantoprazole.
Sometimes they are prescribed based on the availability.
