I have been married for the past 3 years and have not tried to have a baby by now. Recently I have completed my LL.B. (Delhi University) and want to give adequate time to build my career. I am 28 years old and my husband age is 32. Is it fine for me to avoid pregnancy till I attain the age of 35? If yes then I want to know about the risks and what are the things that should be taken care of? My husband lives a very simple life and does not have any sort of addiction like smoking, drinking, etc.

Hi it is a very intelligent approach towards future fertility. The most important factor that contributes to successful pregnancy is an egg quality and quantity which gradually declines with age.the decline starts after 32 years of age and becomes rapid from 35 years onwards.in some women the decline starts much earlier.I would advice you to get your ovarian reserve checked by a blood test called AMH from a good lab.If it shows normal values you can postpone your pregnancy if it is borderline or low, postponement is not advisable.r regarding your partner a semen analysis from a good lab can predict his fertility potential as well
Next Steps
healthy diet full of fresh green vegetables.vitamin c citrus fruits like berries.avoid junk food and excessive exposure to radiations like computer mobiles and television
