Asked for Female, 69 Years

My mom has pulmonary fibrosis for the past 5-6 years. This time around, since CO2 levels increased in her blood, she was asked to use Bipap at hosp and advised to use the same at home. Is there an alternate treatment to this? Wht is the life expectancy of such patients? My mom has lost a lot of weight over the years and is 69 yrs old
