Hi sir,
I accidentally discovered prone Masturbation at the age of 14 and since then I have been doing the same
Now my age is 20. From past 4 months I have switched to normal masturbation.
But I did prone Masturbation for almost 6 years.
From past 10 months I have been experiencing low libido, decreased erection length and hardness,no spontaneous erection .
During those 6 years in first 2 years weekly 4 times without porn
Next 2 years weekly 5-6 times with porn
But during last 2 years it has escalated almost daily with porn.
I feel trapped and unable to concentrate in studies.
I have quit prone and doing normal masturbation but there is no morning erection, spontaneous erection and there is low libido and decreased erection length and hardness.
How can I recover from this?
Is recovery possible? If so how long does it take?
I am ready to do whatever it takes.
I feel low because of my situation and want to recover please help

Dear Practo User,
Thank you for sharing your concerns in detail.
First, it is important to understand that prone masturbation itself does not cause permanent damage to the penis or sexual function. Many individuals who have practiced this habit for years are able to regain normal sexual function after changing their habits.
The symptoms you describe—low libido, reduced erection quality, fewer spontaneous erections, difficulty concentrating, and feeling trapped—are often influenced by a combination of factors such as excessive pornography use, performance anxiety, stress, guilt, poor sleep, reduced physical activity, and psychological conditioning rather than irreversible physical damage.
The good news is that recovery is usually possible, especially at your age. Recovery time varies from person to person. Some individuals notice improvement within a few weeks, while others may take several months depending on the severity of symptoms and underlying causes.
A few important steps include:
✅ Continue avoiding prone masturbation.
✅ Reduce or eliminate pornography consumption.
✅ Exercise regularly, especially strength training and cardio.
✅ Maintain good sleep (7–9 hours daily).
✅ Focus on studies, hobbies, and social activities.
✅ Eat a balanced diet and maintain a healthy weight.
✅ Consider evaluating hormone levels (Testosterone, Prolactin, Thyroid profile) if symptoms persist.
Since you report low libido and reduced erection quality for almost 10 months, a detailed assessment by a qualified sexual health specialist would be beneficial to identify any underlying physical or psychological factors.
Based on the information provided, there is nothing to suggest that your situation is irreversible, and many young men with similar concerns experience significant improvement with proper guidance and lifestyle changes.
“Early evaluation and the right guidance can help restore confidence and sexual wellness. Recovery is often achievable with patience and proper care.”

Based on the appearance you have described and the concern about whether this could be an early sign of HIV, it is important to understand that chronic jock itch and fungal infections are very common skin conditions and, by themselves, do not specifically indicate HIV. The rash pattern you describe sounds more consistent with a fungal infection such as Tinea cruris rather than psoriasis. Early HIV symptoms, when they occur, are usually non-specific and can include fever, sore throat, body aches, rash, and swollen lymph nodes, but a chronic groin fungal rash alone is not considered a typical early sign of HIV.
Skin conditions such as fungal infections can occur in anyone, particularly in hot and humid environments, with excessive sweating, tight clothing, friction, obesity, or prolonged moisture in the groin area. It is understandable to associate new symptoms with a past exposure, but the appearance of a chronic jock itch-type rash does not automatically mean it is related to HIV.
Next Steps
The most important step is to focus on the skin condition itself rather than assuming it is linked to HIV. Maintain proper hygiene, keep the affected area dry, avoid scratching, and wear loose, breathable clothing to reduce irritation and moisture buildup. If the rash has been persistent or recurrent, a detailed clinical assessment can help determine the exact nature of the skin problem and guide long-term management. Health Tips
Keep the groin area clean and dry, change out of sweaty clothes promptly, wear loose cotton underwear, avoid excessive friction and scratching, maintain a healthy weight, stay well hydrated, and follow a balanced lifestyle, as these measures can significantly help reduce recurrence of fungal skin problems and support overall skin health. Thank you
