Prolonged sore throat, swollen lymph
My 8 year old has had on and off (but frequent) sore throat, swollen lymph nodes in neck, extreme fatigue and occasional headaches. No fever, runny nose or cough. She is now starting with hot/cold flashes at night but remains afebrile. This has been ongoing for a month now. Been to Dr. 3 times. Negative strep swab but tried a course of amoxicillin with no effect. Blood work negative CBC, etc...Dr. thinks it’s viral. Is it normal to have a viral throat infection for this long?
