Hey there! The hip pain is due to inactivity or bed rest. Now as you are in cast, do open chain exercises , strengthening with help of leg lifts in pain free limits. This would not harm your ankle and tendon. As the blood circulation will improve with movements, you will find the pain to be fine. Do moist heat fomentation over your hip joint and thigh muscles before doing exercises.
Next Steps
perform movements with caution.
