My baby was coughing after the viral infection , cold for 2,3 weeks ...doctor prescribed medicine for productive cough !but it did not go clearly ...doctor advised nebulization of albuterol ..he got partly relief from cough for 1,2 Days and again start

Why the cough got streched for 2,3 weeks...due to inflammation of airways by viral infection or anything? I am so much worried about it
