My father had ostomy surgery in august and now he has recovered,but after blood test now his sugar level is coming as 500,465.. Can surgery cause high blood sugar levels?He never had diabetes before. He had high bp from last many years.

Unless sepsis wound is not the reason for high sugar, Likely it was detected this juncture

Surgery will not cause high sugar levels.but diabetes will be detected incidentally after surgery. Better to control sugar levels first before surgery. Consult physician for diabetes center control.
