Post Covid Anxiety
Hi. I'm 39 yr old male. I was tested positive for Covid in Aug last week. Was hospitalized for 12 days. Some difficulty breathing. Now I'm fine. No symptoms. Trying to get work from home. Wife is fine too. But from when I returned from hospital, I'm unable to take even little bit of stress. I get chest pain. My breathing gets shallow, palms and feet get chill and sweat. Tightness in chest. Unable to speak. In fact I'm having these symptoms even as I type this. Otherwise when I'm talking doing other things I'm fine. Very little so-called stress triggers this. This also happens when i talk about my health. In unable to sit up or do anything during those times. I feel giddy. I'm not sure if this can be treated or is this under Psychiatry section, but I need to get on with my life. Please help. Thank you.

Hello Practo user, As you mentioned,Stress and talking about health might be  a trigger for your inability to speak, sit, and other symptoms after you have returned from the hospital. It seems that anxiety is manifesting itself in physiological symptoms like Chest pain, shallow breathing, sweating  etc. You could consult a clinical psychologist who would explore the symptoms as well as thoughts that you are experiencing and suggest healthy Management strategies.
Next Steps
Consult a clinical psychologist
Health Tips

Happy to hear that you had recovered post Covid.. The symptoms which you had mentioned are mostly due to the Anxiety.. The earlier fear or anxiety due to Covid is causing you those triggers. I suggest you to consult a psychological Counselor for a therapy to overcome this issue.. Hello thanks for your approach to us. I understand your situation, how you could be experiencing. This is common that most of them will experience a kind of anxious after facing a major health issues, Although COVID may not be the major health problem, but environment and situation is something makes us to think negatively. Due to this we will be having few physical symptoms like dizziness, irritation in chest, emotional dysfunction and others. I would like to suggest few things.. 1. Try to work on changing the life style involve in external activities. 2. Deep breathing , cyclic meditation and other exercises. 3. You can keep the time for playing batmitton, carom and other games. You can try to explore your skills. Trying to accept your healthy, your anxious will reduce gradually.
Next Steps
try to take the help from psychologist work on self with thoughts and emotions and if it's possible you can connect with me, my husband is also Yoga trainer. take care 🙏

You may consular any psychologist for a few sessions to reflect upon your feelings and get some guidance, alongside I would honestly advice to seek some yoga / meditation / breathing techniques from a trained yoga teacher / practitioner who will help you to improve your breathing as well as calm your state of mind
