Possible nail infection

Asked for Female, 22 Years

I injured my finger nail on Thursday. A lot of blood so I went to the clinic where they cleaned& wrapped it. I have a fake acrylic nail ontop of my real nail. The dr said to let it fall off on its own. I've been self caring at home cleaning it in a saline wash before bed every night. Well it's been oozing puss all day yesterday and today.. a lot of crusty brown looking stuff. It smells very very bad! Is it infected??
