Polycystic Ovary
My friend is taking treatment for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) for the past 10 years, the moment she stops taking medicines her periods becomes irregular. Is PCOS a lifestyle disorder? What are the effective treatments available so that she can get completely cured and can stop taking medicines?

Hi. Ya pcos is treated by modifying lifestyle. If BMI is high then tell her to reduce her wt. If she has not done her blood tests recently in a yr,  then tell her to do it. Regular exercise should be done. Take a proper diet by one dietician. If any hormone imbalance is there then it can be treated.

PCOS is a multisystem disorder where genetics may also play a role apart from lifestyle  changes.
