Plantar fascitis is due to your stiff calf muscles and it has nothing to do with the plantar fascia per se. The undue stretching of the fascia occurs due to poor ankle mobility. Focus more on Calf stretching exercises. Passive stretching of the calf muscles is advised. Wear a soft heel in the shoes to reduce the tension in the calf muscle. Apply hot or cold fomentation whichever alternatively.
Next Steps
Plantar fascia stretching and ball rolling don't help. Calf stretching exercises are available on YouTube to relax the calf tightness
