Hope your mother is doing well
It will be helpful if you mention her age too
So itching and burning in that vaginal region could be due to infection
She needs examination by a gynaecologist
And another thing regarding pap smear, it is advisable for every women from age 30 onwards to rule out cervical cancer in initial stage
Not everyone going through the test have cancer
It is preventive measure
Cervical cancer is most preventable one
So first get her examination done by a gynaecologist so that she will advice for itching and infection medication and can do pap smear too
