I have bought Panthenol cream from the pharmacy and used it on my lips but my lips became more irritated and itchy and a it was a bit red around them, when I asked the pharmacist he told me that I'm allergic to panthenol and I shouldn't use it
Is that possible though? Can someone be allergic to panthenol?
The thing is that all the shampoos I want to buy have panthenol in them? What do I do? I need that shampoo

panthenol should not be used on the lips as the lip skin is thin ... apply the cream on a patch on the hand for a few times and see.. if there is a reaction there .. means you could indeed be allergic... The scalps is thicker and hence does not manifest allergy that quickly. Hope this is helpful.
