At the age of 17 years getting such severe cramps during periods should have a reason (especially since you have been getting your periods for the last 4 years and had no symptoms). The cause can be an infection or a small lesion on the uterus or a tube. Please get your CBC, Sonography of the lower abdomen, and urine routine examination done and consult a Gynaecologist with the reports. If the pain has disappeared with the establishment of blood flow then it is fine. Otherwise you should consult a Gynaecologist now.
