Pain in urination and bleeding

I've been having pain after urination and yesteday I bleed. I went to gynec. Dr. said This is kind of infection and she gave me antibiotics. My que. is what is the reason of this infection. I m sexually active. Could that be a reason? If yes Then Sex without condom is unsafe?

The reason may be sexually transmitted infection, infection from bowel, poor hygiene, diabetes etc. It's better to use condom until the symptoms are cured
