There might be an infection either in your gums or in the periapical area ie under your tooth root. So when you exert pressure on the tooth while you eat , it causes pain. If the infection is in your gums , Professional cleaning and application of a gel like Rexidin M forte for a week should suffice. If there is a periapical infection, you might have caries in the tooth that you maybe unaware of. Please consult a nearby dentist and get it treated as per your doctor’s advice. (You might need a RCT in this case)

It is not possible to arrive at a rational diagnosis only by the description that you have mentioned and it will be prudent if you visit a dentist for a proper diagnosis based on the clinical examination and an x-ray of the tooth.
The right treatment can be suggested after the right diagnosis has been established. Please do not delay the treatment until the symptoms aggravate further.
