MRI of the right shoulder joint reveals 1) Rim rent tear supraspinatus tendon. 2) Thickening in rotator interval -? tear. 3) Partial tear subscapularis tendon attachment. Is operation the only solution?

Need for surgery depends on multiple factors. The size of the year, any retraction of the tendon, changes in muslce and most importantly what your symptoms are and how they are impacring your life. If you have tried interventions like physiotherapy and exercises and you still have pain, with restriction in daily activities, then surgery may need to be considered. Else rehabilitation with physiotherapy and exercises may.even control your symptoms.
