Pain in the shoulder and shoulder blade radiating to the arm is commonly due to shoulder impingement, rotator cuff inflammation, muscle spasm around the scapula, or sometimes nerve irritation from the neck. The “pinched nerve” feeling while lifting the arm may occur when the tendons or nerves get compressed during shoulder movement.
Next Steps
For now, try: • Avoid overhead activities and heavy lifting • Apply hot fomentation to the shoulder/neck • Maintain good neck and shoulder posture • Do gentle shoulder and neck stretching exercises
