Calf pain could be various reasons but commonly it's tightness Gently ask him to stretch is calf by lying down and keeping leg straight and tying a belt around the foot and lift the keg up and pull ankle towards you keeping the knee straight hold for 30 secs. Most of the calf pain gets relieved by this stretch. Consult for any more queries. Thank you

Need proper history of patient before starting treatment. Need proper examination for better treatment advice. Use pain'relieving gel like volini gel or diclofenac gel. Use hot water bag three times a day 10 min-15min. Start doing exercises for calf.like stretching. Start knee isometric exs as well. Check with foot wear also. Need to check with any posture issue and ergonomic advice.

Restless leg syndrome affects people post middle age. Sometimes magnesium levels could be low. A suitable multivitamin could help. Also as suggested earlier a good stretching program and if possible a few sessions of mobilization of the lower spine(if going to a physio) could help
Next Steps
have a detailed assessment
